Solid Biblical Truth Never Changes or Grows Old
“Already the judgments of God are abroad in the land, as seen in storms, in floods, in tempests, in earthquakes, in peril by land and by sea. The great I AM is speaking to those who make void His law. When God’s wrath is poured out upon the earth, who will then be able to stand? Now is the time for God’s people to show themselves true to principle. When the religion of Christ is most held in contempt, when His law is most despised, then should our zeal be the warmest and our courage and firmness the most unflinching. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few—this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their cowardice, and loyalty from their treason. The nation will be on the side of the great rebel leader.”

“Those who make light of the third angel’s message do so because they know little of Daniel or the Revelation. They have not read these prophecies with a determination to find out the meaning by prayer, by study, and by fasting. If they had had the experience of Daniel or of John, they would know that the third angel’s message will go forth unto perfect victory. Those who proclaim that message because they see and believe it, will understand that very much is comprehended by it. The third angel is represented as flying through the heavens with a banner on which is inscribed, “The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” All who will gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their defections, and loyalty from their treason, will triumph with the third angel’s message.”
{RH June 8, 1897, par. 17}
A wonderful connection is here seen between the universe of heaven and this world. The things revealed to Daniel were afterward complemented by the revelation made to John on the isle of Patmos. These two books should be carefully perused. [Daniel 12:8-10, 13.] The book of Daniel is unsealed in the revelation to John, and carries us forward to the last scenes of this earth’s history.{Lt59-1896.6, 7}

- Daniel Chapter 1 – Daniel & His Companions
Faithfulness in Health Reform by Ellen White
The book of Daniel begins when Babylon conquered Jerusalem in 605 BC and took many slaves from that place. Remarkably, Daniel would rise from slave to serve with distinction in the highest realms of the governments of both Babylon (head of gold) and their successors, Medo-Persia (chest of silver).
“Daniel (Aramaic and Hebrew: דָּנִיֵּאל – Dāniyyēl,[a] meaning “God is my Judge”; Greek: Δανιήλ Daniḗl) is the hero of the biblical Book of Daniel.[1] A noble Jewish youth of Jerusalem, he is taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and serves the king and his successors with loyalty and ability until the time of the Persian conqueror Cyrus, all the while remaining true to the God of Israel.” Wikipedia
- Daniel Chapter 2 – The Great Image
“Daniel 2 tells how Daniel related and interpreted a dream of Nebuchadnezzar II, king of Babylon. In his night dream, the king saw a gigantic statue made of four metals, from its head of gold to its feet of mingled iron and clay; as he watched, a stone “not cut by human hands” destroyed the statue and became a mountain filling the whole world. Daniel explained to the king that the statue represented four successive kingdoms beginning with Babylon, while the stone and mountain signified a kingdom established by God which would never be destroyed nor given to another people. Nebuchadnezzar then acknowledges the supremacy of Daniel’s God and raises him to high office in Babylon.” Wikipedia
- Daniel Chapter 3 – The Firery Ordeal
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are figures from the biblical Book of Daniel, primarily chapter 3. In the narrative, three Hebrew men are thrown into a fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar II, King of Babylon, when they refuse to bow down to the king’s image; the three are preserved from harm and the king sees four men walking in the flames, “the fourth … like a son of God”.[2] They are first mentioned in Daniel 1, where alongside Daniel they are brought to Babylon to study Chaldean language and literature with a view to them serving at the King’s court, and their Hebrew names are replaced with Chaldean or Babylonian names.” Wikipedia
- Daniel Chapter 4 – Nebuchadnezzar’s Decree
Does the 1863 Chart Invalidate the 2520 Prophecy?
Daniel 4, the fourth chapter of the Bible‘s Book of Daniel, tells how King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon learns the lesson of God’s sovereignty, “who is able to bring low those who walk in pride”. Nebuchadnezzar dreams of a great tree that shelters the whole world, but in his dream an angelic “watcher” appears and decrees that the tree must be cut down and that for seven years he, Nebuchadnezzar, will have his human mind taken away and will eat grass like an ox. This comes to pass, and at the end of his punishment, Nebuchadnezzar praises God.
Daniel‘s role is to interpret the dream for the king.
The episode of mental ill-health experienced by the king is at times referred to as “the madness of Nebuchadnezzar”. The message of Nebuchadnezzar’s “madness” is that all earthly power, including that of kings, is subordinate to the power of God. This chapter forms a contrasting pair with chapter 5, where Nebuchadnezzar learns that God alone controls the world and he is restored to his kingdom, while Belshazzar fails to learn from Nebuchadnezzar’s example and has his kingdom taken from him and given to the Medes and Persians. Scattering and Gathering -(history outline) by Christine Guardo
Belshazzar’s feast, or the story of the writing on the wall (chapter 5 in the Book of Daniel), tells how Belshazzar holds a great feast and drinks from the vessels that had been looted in the destruction of the First Temple. A hand appears and writes on the wall. The terrified Belshazzar calls for his wise men, but they are unable to read the writing. The queen advises him to send for Daniel, renowned for his wisdom. Daniel reminds Belshazzar that his father Nebuchadnezzar, when he became arrogant, was thrown down until he learned that God has sovereignty over the kingdom of men. Belshazzar had likewise blasphemed God, and so God sent this hand. Daniel then reads the message and interprets it: God has numbered Belshazzar’s days, he has been weighed and found wanting, and his kingdom will be given to the Medes and the Persians.
That very night Belshazzar the Chaldean (Babylonian) king was killed, and Darius the Mede received the kingdom.— Daniel 5:30–31
The message of Daniel 5 is the contrast it offers between Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar:
- Nebuchadnezzar is humbled by God, learns his lesson (he acknowledges the ultimate kingship of the God of Israel), and is restored to his throne;
- Belshazzar, in contrast, learns nothing from Nebuchadnezzar’s example, blasphemes against God, and his kingdom is given to others. Wikipedia
- Daniel Chapter 6 -Daniel in the Lion’s Den
Daniel in the lions’ den (chapter 6 of the Book of Daniel) tells of how the legendary Daniel is saved from lions by the God of Israel “because I was found blameless before him” (Daniel 6:22). It parallels and complements chapter 3, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: each begins with the jealousy of non-Jews towards successful Jews and an imperial edict requiring them to compromise their religion, and concludes with divine deliverance and a king who confesses the greatness of the God of the Jews and issues an edict of royal protection. The tales making up chapters 1–6 of Daniel are no earlier than the Hellenistic period (3rd to 2nd century BC) and were probably originally independent, but were collected in the mid-2nd century BC and expanded shortly afterwards with the visions of the later chapters to produce the modern book. Most important chapter (history) to understand; especially verse 45! The entire 11th chapter of Daniel is to be read and understood LITERALLY. No symbolism is here implied.
“The judgments of God are in the land. The wars and rumors of wars, the destruction by fire and flood, say clearly that the time of trouble, which is to increase until the end, is very near at hand. We have no time to lose. The world is stirred with the spirit of war. The prophecies of the eleventh of Daniel have almost reached their final fulfilment.” {RH November 24, 1904, Art. B, par. 8}

VERSE 45 STILL REMAINS TO BE FULFILLED BEFORE PROBATION CLOSES (offer of salvation is closed) FOR THE WORLD followed by the 7 last plagues, Battle of Armageddon and Second Coming of Christ. The 7 last plagues only last for 1 year (Rev 18:8) of which during the 7th plague, Christ returns.
The Last power to come its end
The last powers (plural) to come to their end are represented by the ten toes of the statue in Daniel 2. All remaining nations, peoples and tongues, whose names are not written in the book of life, are destroyed at the return of Christ.
But there is one nation that is specifically addressed as coming to its end after probation closes in the second half of verse 45 in Daniel 11 which takes place under the 7th plague, but first this nation will move to Jerusalem. That nation is the king of the north, Turkey. The king of the north in Daniel 11:3-5 is defined as that person who occupies the seat of government located in that northern geographical territory of Alexander’s divided Empire. The northern territory of Alexander’s Empire today is located in Istanbul (Constantinople), Turkey.
The first king of the north, following Alexander’s death, was Lysimachus; one of four generals that took possession of the four parts of the divided Empire. In time, the northern king absorbed the east and west divisions and from that point, the prophecy concerns itself with only the north; Turkey, and the south; Egypt. For a time, Antiochus was the king over the northern division. He was defeated by Rome, who would in due time become a universal world power.
When eastern Rome, Istanbul (Constantinople) was conquered by Othman (1449), he then became the king of the north. Othman was the founder of the Ottoman Empire. Thus, we can know from recorded history the identity of the king of the north or south, at any given point in time.
Daniel 11:45 states that the king of the north will move the seat of his government from Turkey into Palestine. The whole of Palestine had been for centuries part of the king of the north’s territory. Why the king makes this move, we are not told. He may be forced out by some yet unknown reason or he may simply choose when the time comes to take back the ownership and control of Palestine. Obviously, Israel will oppose this invasion and a catastrophic situation in the mid-east will be the result.
Daniel Chapter 12
- Daniel Chapter 12 -Closing Scenes
Futurism Attacks Bible Prophecy by George Burnside
In Daniel 12:1 (“at that time”) we see that somewhere between or at the time when the king of the north moves into Palestine,” Michael (who is Christ) will “stand up”. To “stand up” in the Bible is to begin to reign, to become king. When Christ stands up, all the kingdoms and nations of this earth will soon come to their end when He establishes His everlasting kingdom. The standing up of Michael also tells us that probation for mankind is forever closing. The seven last plagues will then begin, and Christ’s return will follow within a year from the commencement of the seven last plagues.
The twin beast powers, the Little Horn beast (Rome) and the False Prophet beast (Protestant America), attempt to persecute Gods people throughout the seven last plagues but are not able since the saints are sealed at this time. The beast powers finally come to their end at that time when Christ returns (see Revelation 19:20-21) under the 7th plague. The king of the north in Daniel 11:45, however, comes to his end prior, under the 6th plague, which signals in for the gathering/ marshaling of the nations for the final battle of Armageddon conflict, of which climaxes with the Second Coming of Christ.

The Books of Daniel and Revelation go together. Since 1844, there is no longer any “time” prophecy to be fulfilled. Prophecies left to be fulfilled are based on EVENTS, not “prophetic time”. Therefore, no future dates can be set or applied to ulfulfilled prophecy, nor can future dates be applied to past fulfilled propehcies.
ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE STUDY OF DANIEL
Daniel’s prophecies should be carefully studied just now as they apply to our very time, the last days of this earth’s history, PK547.
Daniel’s messages God-given, are in a special sense for these very times, TM113, 4BC1166.
A better understanding of Daniel and the Revelation will lead to a better spiritual life, TM114.

The more loyal we are to the third angel’s message, the better we’ll understand Daniel, of which the Revelation is the supplement, 2SM114.
Those studying Christ’s life sincerely will find in Daniel and the Revelation Spirit-filled truth, activating irrepressible forces, FE473.
Both Daniel and the Revelation give vital directions to men from God in regard to occurrences that will transpire when the history of this world will be coming to and end, GC741.
Teachers should increasingly treasure God’s instruction that is so clearly given in the books of Daniel and the Revelation, 6T131.
Jesus highly recommended to His disciples the study of Daniel’s prophecy when He said, “Whoso breadth let him understand,” DA234.
Daniel and the Revelation explain each other, ad they are to be understood as witnesses in the world, 7BC949.
Daniel is a prophecy, a book that was sealed; Revelation is a revealing, a book unsealed; so they are one, 7BC971.
A much more careful study of Daniel and the Revelation is needed now than ever before, CW65.
Because time is running out, and we are faced with the dangers of the events of the end of time, we are admonished to pray, study, be alert, and put into practice the instruction given in Daniel and the Revelation, 6T128.
MORE QUOTES FROM SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
The mighty Angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon the dry land, shows the part which He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan. This position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth. The controversy has waxed stronger and more determined from age to age, and will continue to do so, to the concluding scenes when the masterly working of the powers of darkness shall reach their height. Satan, united with evil men, will deceive the whole world and the churches who receive not the love of the truth. But the mighty Angel demands attention. He cries with a loud voice. He is to show the power and authority of His voice to those who have united with Satan to oppose the truth. {Ms59-1900.21}
After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the injunction comes to John, as to Daniel, in regard to the little book: “Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered.” [Revelation 10:4.] These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel’s prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels’ messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time. {Ms59-1900.22}
The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one. One is a prophecy, the other a revelation; one a book sealed, the other a book opened. John heard the mysteries which the thunders uttered, but he was commanded not to write them. The special light given to John which was expressed in the seven thunders was a delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angels’ messages. It was not best for the people to know these things, for their faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of God, most wonderful and advanced truths would be proclaimed. The first and second angels’ messages were to be proclaimed, but no further light was to be revealed before these messages had done their specific work. This is represented by the Angel standing with one foot on the sea, proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time should be no longer. {Ms59-1900.23}
This time, which the Angel declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this world’s history, neither of probationary time, but of prophetic time, which should precede the advent of our Lord. That is, the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844. {Ms59-1900.24}
The Angel’s position, with one foot on the sea, the other on the land, signifies the wide extent of the proclamation of the message. It will cross the broad waters and be proclaimed in other countries, even to all the world. The comprehension of truth, the glad reception of the message, is represented in the eating of the little book. The truth in regard to the time of the advent of our Lord was a precious message to our souls. {Ms59-1900.25}
The greatest work to be done in this life is to make preparation for the future life, for that life which measures with the life of God. A probation has been granted us that, notwithstanding the difficulties, we may cultivate virtues which shall carry us into the higher life. Pure love for one another is exercised by those who are partakers of the divine nature. {Ms59-1900.26}

Beautiful Job !! One can truly understand Daniel 11 now. I like the way you can see what each chapter is about. Great for bible students and for teachers. Thank You for sharing, very important information here !! Well done.
Nicely done ! Much concentration is needed on Daniel 11:45 in order to understand the signs of the times. The next verse is Daniel 12:1 where Michael (Jesus Christ} stands up and probation closes. I pray folks would understand how important this is. We’re almost home!!
