For more than half a century the Seventh – day Adventist people have maintained that the scripture plainly teach that in the last days the Ottoman Empire in Europe will come to an end, and that following this there will be a world-wide war — “a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation, to even the same time.” And we have further declared that according to the Word of God this universal war would terminate in the battle of Armageddon, the end of the world, and the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Vol 5, RH Aug 5, 1909, p 532
Time of trouble is the pouring out of the 7 last plagues. Christ returns between the 6th & 7th plague.
ISLAM IN BIBLE PROPHECY,
The 7th angel/ 3rd woe
The sounding of the voice of the seventh angel (trumpet) began to sound October 22, 1844 and continues to sound in the days (years) of the sounding of the 7th trumpet as the Mystery of God (Christ in you, the hope of glory) will be finished. Revelation 11:15-19 is a depiction of the time (when the 7th angel began to sound) when Christ went from the holy place in the heavenly sanctuary to the most holy place to begin the closing ministerial work: “hour of his judgment is come” according to the first angel of Revelation 14:6, 7.
Judgment will be dealt upon the rejecters of God’s word via the 7 last plagues of which Islam will play a part.

What is the Eastern Question?
Notice the date of the article, February 2016. The world recognizes the Eastern Question is still around! How can Christians state that no such thing as the Eastern Question exists in the Scriptures!? God has always used the rise and fall of nations in the Scriptures to show where we are in the realm of time, especially with the scenes that take us to the end of this world’s history.

Notice the many wars mentioned that comprise the “Eastern Question”. One of the wars mentioned below is the Crimean War of 1853-56 which was a fulfillment of Daniel Chapter 11, Verse 44 during the days of our Millerite pioneers!

Eastern Question, diplomatic problem posed in the 19th and early 20th centuries by the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, centring on the contest for control of former Ottoman territories. Any internal change in the Turkish domains caused tension among the European powers, each of which feared that one of the others might take advantage of the political disarray to increase its own influence. This question arose periodically during the 19th century—e.g., during the Greek revolution of the 1820s, in the Crimean conflict (1853–56), the Balkan crisis of 1875–78, the Bosnian crisis of 1908, and the Balkan Wars of 1912–13. The eventual distribution of the Ottoman territories was as follows: the Balkan provinces emerged in the course of the century as independent states, often under the influence of Russia or one of the other great powers; Britain occupied Cyprus in 1878 and Egypt in 1882 and acquired Palestine and Iraq as mandates after World War I; and France took over Syria and Lebanon in 1920. Turkey, the heart of the Ottoman state, won recognition as an independent republic in 1923.
There is need of a much closer study… esp. the books of Daniel and Revelation
“There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven and His law are to be exalted.” {Lt57-1896.4} CW 65.1/ Ev 577.1
A Thought:
[First please note she uses the word “both” and “and” to emphasize the teaching of BOTH the PROPHECY AND EVENTS portrayed.]
Notice “the prophecy” mentioned. This relates to all of our “time” prophecies, including the 5th and 6th trumpets/ 1st and 2nd woes that fell under “prophecy” since they were related to time prophecies (150 year and 391 year, 15 day prophecies) in Revelation 9. These were fulfilled in 1449 and 1840.
Continuing to trace down the line of history, now notice “the events portrayed”. The 7th trumpet/ 3rd woe are NOT based on “time” prophecy (as time is no longer since 1844) but on events. What world events could be transpiring under this trumpet showing that this world is about to wrap up? Since we will “have less to say in some lines in regard to the Roman power and the papacy”, then what other power could this possibly relate? When reading the definition on the “Eastern Question” from the online Encyclopedia above, it is easy to see the past events of the Eastern Question (the wars that have have taken place & CONTINUE to take place) that will finally culminate in the FINAL EVENT of the Eastern Question in Daniel 11:45. (Please also notice in the Encyclopedia definition of the Eastern Question above, it mentions the Crimean War of 1853-1856. This was fulfilled in verse 44 of Daniel, Chapter 11 in the time of our Adventist pioneers and the only verse remaining to be fulfilled is Daniel 11:45! Needless to say, as the pioneers were living to see prophecy being fulfilled in their day, they kept their eyes (watching and waiting as we are told to do in Matt, Mark, Habakkuk) on the middle east always anticipating the fulfillment of the last verse of Daniel 11; verse 45, Turkey taking residence in Jerusalem.
If we trust in God (in his leading and teachings in our past history), the human agent will be kept out of sight, hid in Christ and the truth will be seen.
“Much ignorance of Scripture prevails, even among those that preach the Word. Well-educated, intelligent men preach at the Word, and around the Word, but they do not touch the inner meaning of the Word. They do not present truth in its genuine simplicity. These men, considering themselves authority, tell their hearers that they cannot understand either Daniel or Revelation. {8MR 413.1}
Many ministers make no effort to explain Revelation. They call it an unprofitable book to study. They regard it as a sealed book, because it contains the record of figures and symbols. But the very name that has been given it, “Revelation,” is a denial of this supposition. Revelation is a sealed book, but it is also an opened book. It records marvelous events that are to take place in the last days of this earth’s history. The teachings of this book are definite, not mystical and unintelligible. In it the same line of prophecy is taken up as in Daniel. Some prophecies God has repeated, thus showing that importance must be given to them. The Lord does not repeat things that are of no great consequence.”—Manuscript 107, 1897, 1, 2. (Search the Scriptures,” undated.) {8MR 413.2}
A Thought:
The prophet says in the book of Revelation IS THE SAME LINE OF PROPHECY as in Daniel. So, the question to ask would be, where is the prophecy of Revelation Chapter 9 about the Turk, located in the Book of Daniel? Answer: Daniel 11:40-45. Daniel 11:45 is the only verse that remains to be fulfilled to complete this prophecy.

A Prophecy Foretold in 1906 & 1909 Regarding 911 Attack
“On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify their owners and builders. Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. Those to whom these buildings belonged were not asking themselves: “How can we best glorify God?” The Lord was not in their thoughts. {9T 12.1}
I thought: “Oh, that those who are thus investing their means could see their course as God sees it! They are piling up magnificent buildings, but how foolish in the sight of the Ruler of the universe is their planning and devising. They are not studying with all the powers of heart and mind how they may glorify God. They have lost sight of this, the first duty of man.” {9T 12.2}
As these lofty buildings went up, the owners rejoiced with ambitious pride that they had money to use in gratifying self and provoking the envy of their neighbors. Much of the money that they thus invested had been obtained through exaction, through grinding down the poor. They forgot that in heaven an account of every business transaction is kept; every unjust deal, every fraudulent act, is there recorded. The time is coming when in their fraud and insolence men will reach a point that the Lord will not permit them to pass, and they will learn that there is a limit to the forbearance of Jehovah. {9T 12.3}
The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fire-proof buildings and said: “They are perfectly safe.” But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.” {9T 13.1} 1909
ACCORDING TO PROPHECY, ISLAM WILL MAKE ANOTHER APPEARANCE WORLDWIDE

Then Islam/ Turkey will invade & take over Jerusalem
“Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation…” Chaos and immorality in our large cities will only increase as laws contrary to the principles of righteousness found in God’s Word are enacted. In God’s perfect timing, He will give the green light for a fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 11:45: “And he (the king of the north—the leader of Turkey) shall plant (place or establish) the tabernacles of his palace (a religious/ political entity — Islamic Caliphate) between the seas (Mediterranean and Dead Seas) in the glorious holy mountain (Jerusalem—Mount of Olives); yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” The leader of Turkey will carry out his desire of seeing an Islamic Caliphate established in Jerusalem. The prophecy does not describe exactly how this will come about. But when the prophecy is fulfilled, the world will recognize that something significant has just taken place. A revived Caliphate will unite the Muslim world and we can expect to witness the third Jihad which the Bible calls the third woe. This third woe will anger the nations, so says the Bible (Revelation 11:18). A rise in Islamic terrorist activity can be anticipated.” Pastor John Witcombe

The Eastern Question is an “essential question”
“The events [Daniel 11:45; Eastern Question] connected with the close of probation [3 angel’s messages] and the work of preparation [Character Development & Obedience] for the time of trouble [7 last plagues], are clearly presented. But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed. [especially in connection with Islam and the plagues] Satan watches to catch away every impression that would make them wise unto salvation, and the time of trouble will find them unready.”{RH June 7, 1906, par. 3} Emphasis supplied
Notice it is an EVENT that is connected with the close of probation and is NOT based on a time propehecy. Since 1844, time is no longer.
“These thoughts are not the fruit of one brain. In the time of the end, the Revelation was to be unsealed and opened. And from, the open book, light has been shining. William Miller saw much. Others since have seen more…. This …. is a book of thoughts, clothed in the author’s happy style, plain, yet critical and practical coming down to the spiritual wants of the common people, yet elevated and dignified. This book was not only Uriah’s thoughts on prophecy. Uriah’s book was the result of many minds of our pioneers.
